Im a 6'4" 190 pound junior rhp pitcher throwing 185 for a small high school that gets little baseball attention. What would be the best route to take in getting noticed at this point.

Take the first and most important step. Go the main pages of this site and read all the articles you can on recruiting etc.

Bob has put together a wonderful series of articles that cover about everything you could possible imagine. They take a bit of time to read but actually reading through them will give you so much more information than having one of us give you the cliff notes version.

Take things into your own hands from day one, you get better results. Once you do that - come back to the message board if you have specific questions.

What would it take to attend a showcase?

The fees usually run from about $300 to $500, and then you'd have your travel expenses. But as a pitcher, you need to know you will only get a few innings usually 2 or 3. But it's well worthwhile if you think you can compete and are in top condition.
Being from California, there should be other resources for you that are closer to home. Maybe you should post in the California forum and see if there are any local showcases planned for this summer.

David...Find a competitive summer team and get your son on it for this summer. Very important thing for him to do. Then, tell him to have a nice spring season.

Lastly, hang in there. Virtually everyone gets noticed in California.

You're in Fillmore... That's a short drive to LA or Ventura.... As has been mentioned find a summer team... baseballresource.com is a great source for Baseball info in So Cal. Check their message board. Try out for a Scout Team in the fall.

Or search for connie mack, or trombly baseball. There is a kid that drives down from Lompoc area to play for them, and now has a NLI for CSF.
