I would like your opinions on a college program that does not fund the full amount of D1 scholorships. Does this indicate a lack of support for the program?

It does indicate lack of financial support that’s for sure. This would lead one to believe a lack of overall support could exist. I would research WHY the lack of financial support. On the other hand there are many colleges that offer little or no financial support the field good baseball teams. While it might be considered America’s pastime, college baseball is relegated to being a minor sport by the NCAA. If you are considering this particular college, especially for its baseball, I would recommend a more thorough search at the local level to find the reason behind the lack of funding. Be sure to look at the complete program including the college, not just the baseball scholarships amounts.

Don't single out baseball.

Many D1 schools (even high level schools) do not fully fund all their athletic teams.

Football and basketball are obvoiusly the exception, as the ncaa mandates those sports to be fully funded at the D1 level.

I would venture that half the D1 teams in the country are not fully funded for baseball and some have only 2 or 3 baseball scholarships to offer.

It is what it is, schools need money to support their programs and giving away free tuition to every athlete doesn't help in generating revenue.

At one time, not too long ago, Notre Dame's baseball program had no scholarships...and I believe no on-campus stadium either. Obviously that has changed, but I believe only in the last 10 years.
