Questions to ask, (others will probably have many more to add): Does this school have a baseball camp or showcase? Ask for details, etc.
Will the coach or an assistant be attending any camps or showcases that you will also be participating? You may want to register for a camp if the school that you like is represented.
If you are interested in walking on, do they encourage players to do so? Although if you are looking/hoping for athletic money, this could hurt your cause.
As for providing info about yourself:
Class year, GPA, SAT/ACT score, position(s) played, any honors - academic and athletic, academic interests.
Hope this helps.

Orioles, welcome to HSBBW! If you haven't already noticed, this is BY FAR the most informative sight online in regards to advise about what to do, what to say, when to do it, how often, etc. You need not go any further for advise than the website you are currently on. Take a look at this page that I pulled off for you to peruse. It will help you and/or son with tons of answers. http://hsbaseballweb.com/players_parents.htm
