A coach from a mid-level d1 in the southeast promised to call me two weeks ago by an email sent in late june (he could not use his phone in his location). I still haven't heard from him; should i be worried?

Nah, don't worry jrm. If he calls he calls. If he doesn't, move on. Feel free to e-mail him back and maybe give him an update on your summer schedule. Never hang all your hopes on one branch, use the whole tree.

I would call the coach, leave a message saying you will call him back and provide your number.

If a college coach says that he will call you on a certain date and does not make the call you should move on. That is probably not the type of guy that you want to play for in the first place.

At the smaller DIs they don't have as big a staff and sometimes they just get busy, lose a number or forget. I wouldn't move on based on one missed phone call. If it becomes a pattern, then maybe. I think we have all lost a phone number or two. I would be persistent and call them. If the calls continue not to come, then move on.
