Read the timeline here, take control and do it yourself. What else do you need? Post your own video and make your own website if you want to get fancy.

My son and I just did the "free" entry on there the other day. How can that hurt? I thought it was a great idea, maybe I will upgrade so I can see what coahes are viewing, but he got an email from one of them so we knew who it was, so why upgrade???
I have done the website thng too thru www.wix.com and am finalizing that, dont know when I will get it published to the "web" but likely soon.
Another one is true recruits, also offer a free profile.
We have done emails to colleges and will do a follow up one soon to advise of next seasons sechedules.

USEFUL!! The best thing about their service(s)... it is FREE!

They have a very comprehensive, easily accessed database of college contact information. You DO NOT have to upgrade your account to the deluxe membership to get results from low - moderate effort. We use it, just recently upgraded to the deluxe membership (minimal fee). Prior to the upgrade GED10 had 1800(+) total views, 750(+) coaches connections. Since the upgrade, it's been ridiculous....

If you are interested, I'll PM his site info to you so you can see it.baseball3GED10DaD

Gunem, I saw the upgrade looks like about $9.99, is that per month I assume or annually?

GED,
How many coaches have made direct contact as a result of the site?

Expect that this adventure is going to be difficult. It is going to be hard. And expect to win.

CPLZ, good question. I sent you a PM. Let me just say, enough to know he's on the radar. Especially living in West Texas, where he's in a school that is not going to play regionally or on the State stage. And, for not living in the baseball mecca of Houston or DFW.

Contact has become significant now that he's 16/JR, since September 1st.

Hope that helps, GED10DaD

After a good discussion with CPLZ, off-site, I'll add this too. Just remember this has been our experience so far, some users will have more and some less success. But, I think it is safe to say it has been very beneficial for GED10. This is not a wholesale endorsement of their site, just my .02 cents worth about the sites usefulness.

In the beginning, ZERO direct contact as a 15 yr old sophomore, using the free profile. There was a significant number of profile views, but no real interaction, much like you'd expect over a 5'08 156 lb, 15 yr old sophomore. Wink Several coaches and pro scouts (yep - pro) looked at his profile and some even bookmarked the site. (All of this is tracked by the site and can be viewed by the player if they have the deluxe account.) We were very happy to see some interest, not really expecting much more. It was/is a great palce to put photos, clips, and even blog news updates. We did/do all three. All of this is available under the free account.

Before Sept 1st, 2009... GED10 received the normal canned camp invites and other e-mails, along with the profile tracking views.

Now as a 6'0 185lb 16 y/o junior, there has been significant "written personal contact" over the last month. Easily 25(+) coaches/rec coordinators have written letters and sent e-mail. But, they are very careful to say they are just inviting him to their camps/showcases and they will file his info away in their "preferred" recruit file, until Summer 2010. They are collecting questionnaires, asking for summer/fall/spring schedules, encouraging good work habits and study habits.

Just as much out-of-state D1/D2/D3/NAIA contact as in state. Also, one Texas JUCO bookmark and one JUCO e-mail.

We now have a deluxe account, but we used the free one for 11 months. If you want to see his profile I'll e-mail it to you or PM.

Hope this helps too. GED10DaD

I use it to recruit players for our fall league www.nhbaseball.org, its not as good as face to face conversation for my purposes but I think the site can be useful for prospective players.

Out of curiosity from the thread I registered my son just to see. Uploaded a few videos. Its been about a week now and 2 or 3 looks. Maybe it'll get better but seems there is no substitute for being proactive and writing letters.

New, did you do the free or the paid membership? I may be going in to do the paid one in the next month or two, seems like you would possibly get a tad but more opportunities that way.

We did the free option. The first two days two coaches looked and he had 3 profile views. Since then nothing at all. Let me know how if goes for you with the paid option. I figured on waiting for a while.

New, did you get an email from a coach right away? I did and then if you look at the list of coaches that already viewed I think it was one of them looking to field a team for a fall/winter tourney down south. Not sure this would be considered a true lead or someone phishing the site for players?!

No EG. No emails. Just profile views and video views.

Thanks

My son has used berecruited and has gotten alot of use out of the site. He has used the paid features to easily send out emails to coaches and has gotten alot of response. There has also been some unsoliticited interest from coaches. I found he got more interest after we completely filled out all the information, stats, and video clips. I also find that it's a convenient repository for all his data, videos, etc. I think it has been worth the 39.99.
