Much has been made of the infamous Buckner Ball and the resulting fallout but, aside from "smothering the ball", I have not heard anyone take a hard look at exactly what happened and how it could have been prevented. What did he do? What did the ball do?
Such a little play with huge consequnces.

They showed a replay last night on "Best 50 **** Baseball Plays" (or something with Best **** in it). It was #3. Looked to me like an easy play - he just didn't get the glove down, and the ball went right through the wicket.
