I currently was wondering if there is anything if I can do to get better on defense. I made one error the whole season but i want to get the ball out of my glove quicker.

geryhound6;

use a flat glove, no deep pocket, maybe 10" fingers. Practicing catching the ball on the heal of the glove when you play catch.

Pretend the ball is "on fire". Do not backhand a ball hit in front of you.

"Can you read the bat"? Think every batter runs to 1b in 3.9 seconds.

A trick my friend taught me, is that when you are fielding ground balls that will be a bang bang play, use your index finger and push into the glove, so it makes a sort of bubble, blocking off the pocket, and field the ground ball, making your pocket very shallow, so it doesn't get lost as easily. Sounds complicated, but I think if you experiment you will see what I'm talking about.
