First don't try to keep a player out of a play because they may get hurt. Injuries are part of the game and you hope they never happen but if they do then you got to deal with them.
Second I'm not sure what you are asking. Is this a bunt that is laid down or a rundown on a blown bunt?
If this is a bunt laid down then I doubt you will see too many times where a play is made and the 1B gets behind the C and SS gets behind the 3B. What you will see the majority of the time is ball down and a bang bang play at the plate or the attempt at the out at first.
If this is a blown bunt and you got a runner hung out to dry and you involve this many people in a rundown then the rundown wasn't executed properly. Assuming you start with the catcher on the rundown heading back to third and you involve the pitcher at home then that is 4 throws.
While I believe it's extrememly important that you prepare for possible plays sometimes you can't get everything. At that point you just got to hope that the preparation you have already put in can allow your players to make plays. I think you might be asking how to prepare for a play that is unlikely to happen.
If I'm reading the question wrong then please clarify.
