(for me, in the '70s) I attended Mardi Gras to ease the pain.

Happy Mardis Gras....one and all.

128K stream works well for me.

Click here for Krewe of Zulu Parade Video)! Notice the Coconuts!

Sorry to have been absent, I returned to France for more work, and more work arrived last week.

Many, many years ago when I was with a company that did motivation travel for major corporations, I went to New Orleans to organize a Mardi Gras theme party. The first stop was a visit to a warehouse where the components for the parade floats were kept.

It was a dark and shadowy place.

Like a Twighlight Zone episode.

The "next day", after that long haul from snowy Michigan to the Gulf, a pair of young ladies, I'd just met, talked me into talking accompanying them, on my first streetcar ride- #48 through the Garden District, to City Park for an indiginous concert.

Professor Longhair opened the show, which was headlined by the aforementioned "Funky" Meters. My, my...how I wish I'd owned at least one of these pocket digital cameras back then.
