I'm having a real problem with all this good/bad talk going on. This is polarizing the Websters just before Christmas. This is bad! In comparing baseball programs, one will say this DII is good and someone else will point out the coach is bad. Yes, they might win but that doesn’t make them good. Then someone says a particular DI might have a good baseball program but the academics are bad. Another will point out the program can’t be good because their conference is bad. The analysis has to be bad because a program can only be a good as their competition allows. Being better than your competition is good but not “good” when the competition is bad. Of course my example might be a good example of a bad program or a bad example of a good program. ..I don't know. I get confused. I decided to go to a group of players to find out the real scoop. They are always honest. I asked them if their program was good or bad. They all said their program was bad. They all seemed excited. I asked, "How can you be excited with a bad program?" They said everyone wants a bad program. I asked them what makes them bad. They all agreed it had to be they had the best players. So you mean it's bad to have the best players? No man, it's good to have the best players. I'm having a bad day...I think! Merry Christmas! Fungo
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
