I have taken a job in Hialeah, Florida and we'll be moving there at the end of Feb. My son is 12 y/o and has played competive baseball for the last 5 years. He played on an 14U team this fall and was going to move up to 15U this spring, he'll be 13 on April 5th. He's 5 foot 10 and a quality right handed pitcher and infielder. Can someone point me in the direction of a quality travel program in the area and maybe give some information on local high school programs. Thanks in advance for your help.

Miami is not North Carolina, big difference, good luck. The first thing to do is to find a good private high school.

I find it amusing that you think b/c I currently live in NC that I know nothing about FL, baseball or education. I was looking for some assistance and you gave me none, thanks.

Jimnev,
No matter where you go you will be those that direct you one way while others guide you in another direction. The selection will come down to your son's and the family's personal preference. If I were going into a new area whether it be Florida or Washington State I would contact local college coaches and ask about summer “feeder” programs and high school programs. A good way to do this might be to set up a lesson with some of the local college coaches or attend one of their camps to introduce your son and yourself to the “baseball parents” and the baseball coaches in the area. (rest assured they will be in attendance). Good luck in your move to Florida.
