Can someone explain to me how this works? Is it run by an organization or do all the coaches just play under the radar? Do the high schools have tryouts in the fall and that sets the roster for the spring? I keep hearing about "fall ball" but there is nothing out there to be found.

Hi, Jimnev. I don't know specifically about Broward, but in FL, there's no need for coaches to play "under the radar." Summer and fall HS teams are not against FHSAA rules. Others will disagree, but personally, I wish they were against the rules. My guess is that your fall team is being run by the HS head coach, just like ours.

We are in Broward county. What school do you attend? I would suggest looking up your HS coach on the internet and send him an email before school starts and tell him you are interested. Then, also contact him in person the first week of school.

Every school is different depending on the coach and the principal.

My son will go to Flanagan in a few years, I was curious b/c I kept hearing about this "fall ball" Thanks for the reply.
