Anyone have any information on this high school tournament in late February, teams involved, etc? I know that Parkview Baptist and Jesuit are entered. My son's team from Virginia is coming to play and just trying to get a scouting report. Any information you have is much appreciated. We look forward to coming to baseball country.

Doesn't appear that much reading goes on in this part of the country.

Naw, I think they read just fine...just tight lipped. They're just waiting another 2 weeks to lay the wood to us before we have a chance to thaw out from this lovely weather in Virginia. LOL

I can assure you that some of us in south Louisiana can read. I just don't spend much time in this part of the forum.

I am one of the organizers of this tournament and it is going to be a very exiting 4 days of baseball. My son is a Junior pitcher/outfielder for Parkview Baptist which was recently placed at #24 in the Easton Sports preseason poll. The link below will access our tournment website. I have an appointment and have to leave but I will post more information later today.

Tigerdad08, Thanks for the response. I hope I didn't offend anyone. I was hoping to entice someone to speak up. What is the weather forecast for that week?

Shoeless Joe, none taken. The tournament is a little far off to predict the weahter. However, if we would have played this week, the weather would have been perfect. Clear skies with high temperatures approaching 70 degrees. The first week of January had temperatures in the mid 70's the entire week. Keep your fingers crossed for 2 weeks from now.

Thanks for the info, Tigerdad. We're looking forward to the trip in a couple weeks. What can you tell me about the other teams involved? I know that Jesuit, Rummel and especially Parkview have a history of strong programs. How about the field at Dutchtown? Any recommendations on good local cuisine? Thanks, again.

44hokie, we mailed a package to your coach last week. In this package was a 5 page Concierge list with points of interest in the Baton Rouge area include restaurants. If you do not get this from the coach soon, send me a pesonal message and I can forward this to you.

Dutchtown was in the 5A quarterfinals last year losing to the 5A runner-up. They will be very strong again this year. The home field is about 4 years old and is a very nice complex.

I will get a report on some of the other teams and post later.
