My son's team will be traveling to Mississippi at the end of July to participate in a tournament in Southaven. Apparently so are a ton of other teams. All the hotels that are in close proximity to the fields are pretty much booked (Hampton Inn, Fairfield, Quality Inn, etc) I even checked in Memphis. Since I'm not familiar with the area was wondering if anyone on this site could recommend a hotel to contact that would be a decent price and not a tremendously long drive. I'm looking for 12 rooms.

I do not have any specific hotels to recommend, but look at Olive Branch, Horn Lake and also Hernando. These are area towns which are close. All within 20 minutes. Try to stay away from Memphis if you can. Crime is bad on out of towners.

The Homewood Suites on Poplar in Memphis/Germantown is a great place to stay. We just played in the NABF World Series there and it actually was our second year in a row to stay at that hotel. Breakfast is free, as well as the afternoon snacks/meals they put out. Good luck.
