New Orleans is in chaos right now. High schools may not be in operation for 4-6 months. It is absolutely crazy right now.

http://www.emergency.tulane.edu is the athletic site & updated daily.
LSU is accepting some Tulane students.
Georgia Tech is accepting graduate students.
SMU is taking some.
Tennesse schools: "If you were registered, Tennesee Schools are accepting..."

Can not verify the info, but I was told Tulane may be closed 3 mo.

I think they needed Rudy Guilliani to take the helm from both the mayor & Governor of Louisiana on Monday at sunrise!! I think he would have been more able to mobilize the evacuation & rescue efforts, & keep order with the Nat'l Guard!!
My heart goes out to all.
Has everyone opened the checkbook? Please give!!

BA has an article on the NO schools and their athletic programs. They are going to function out of town this year.

best source for up to date info is http://www.tulanegreenwave.com Check the various links for teams, the blog, communiques from President, Scott Cowen. Order is being restored, slowly, but surely.
Spoke yesterday with Coach Kingston, baseball recruiting co-ordinator at Tulane. All returning players & this years recruits are registered & in classes at Texas Tech. Things are looking up!! And a Texas size thank you to all the schools who have so generously accommodated the athletes across the US!! applaude

UNO came out pretty good according to a very reliable source. Most of the campus did not flood and the baseball field is still high and dry. UNO baseball team may be moved to a school in New Mexico until school resumes in N.O.
