My son's hs team is playing at Disney during spring break, these are the schools they are playing:

Trinity (OH)
Toledo St. Francis de Sales (OH)
Madisonville North (KY)

Any info is helpful, record, star players, are they ranked?

Thanks

Seed - I don't know much about those schools but do believe the Toledo school is a traditional state power.

I believe the Madisonville team received votes for rankings in the Kentucky top 25 poll. Sounds like you will be playing some pretty good teams.

Seedthrower, JohnLex7 may have more info that I would on Madisonville. They are not a traditional powerhouse here, but maybe they're having a stronger year than usual. The teams in western KY seem like they're a nation away from us here in central KY and I'm usually only familiar with the stronger teams from there.

03Parent and Bluegrass are from Western KY... maybe one of them might see this and have some current scoop.

Seed---

St. Francis plays in the Toledo City League, a pretty good league. Historically they are usually in the mix for the league title and have had some good runs in the state tournament. Long-time coach is very good. I don't have any details on this year's team but they probably haven't practiced outdoors more than a few times.

Good luck.

I usually check the site regularly but lately baseball and basketball and, oh yea, work, have kept things pretty busy.

04Parent - I personally would appreciate an update here or there. I've heard through the grapevine he's doing very well but I haven't had much time to check in on their site to keep tabs.

Seed, Madisonville-North Hopkins was 26-8 last year, but to be fair, plays in a weak district in Kentucky. They were run ruled in the first game of the regional tournament (second phase of our state tournament).

To add to JohnLex7 - my team plays them at least once a year. They have a good coach who is pretty hardcore but his guys respond well to it from what I can see.

They are going to be a pretty fundamental team defensively but they do not have any pitchers who really stand out. They hit the ball well but nothing outstanding.

They are a good solid team but nothing outstanding. They do play in a weak district which hurts them when it comes to the region.

Coach, that's pretty much the way I saw them. My son played summer ball a bit with one of their players. They are going to be solid but not spectacular, and I do think that playing in the district they are in hurts them when they step up to the region, particularly given the region they are in.

Madisonville lost one of their better players after he switched schools so that hurts them. They have a 6'5 lefty that will be in the mid 80's named Seth McCabe. He is being recruited late by Vandy and has offers from some other D1 Kentucky schools.

Thanks for the info everyone. My son gets the start against Trinity on Tuesday morning. They were supposed to open up the season Tuesday and play Thursday, but all were canceled. So we open up in sunny Florida. Hopefully.
