This past Monday two of my boys went to the Astros open tryout in Lexington. It was held at Applebees Park. It was an experience for both of them and me. We all learned a lot. WTVQ in Lexington interviewed my oldest. I'm adding a link to the story. The pic within the article has Brandon in it. Only from the back. The young man with the 3 is him. Enjoy the read.

Astros Tryout

Also, if you go to the main sports page and scroll down, you'll see webcast. The story is on the list named "Legends Tryouts". My oldest is interviewed and Brandon is on his right wearing a KC hat. Ryan, oldest, is #6 and Brandon is #33.

Cool stuff tas - we needed to pump some life into the forum and this certainly helps. After reading the story, I watched the video and it was cool. Also, nice to see what Legends Stadium looks like Smile

Thanks CD. Applebees Park is very nice. That was the first time that I had been and was impressed with it.

Laf, "Boodle" is a great baseball name.

One of Louisville's players was at the tryout. I believe he was their 3rd baseman. Players from Florida, Cleveland, Ohio and a couple from Tennessee were at the tryout. And the boys made a friend from Harrison County as well. It was fun for both boys.

03, not sure if the boys got to meet any pitchers or not. It had rained before the tryouts and they sent all the pitchers to the bullpen area to do their tryouts. And that was just after we had arrived. Not sure if Rob had made it or not. I did see a few pitchers working out after the 1st cut. But, someone told one of my boys that they didn't keep any of the pitchers for the hitting part of the tryout. I'll ask to see if either one met any pitchers from Cincy.
