Stow, Even if a team has had tryouts, they will very often make room for another pitcher. I wouldn't let that deter me from contacting a team I was interested in.

Beezer, i played against the jayhawks a lot, many close and good games. i played with the seavolwves not this past summer, but the previous 2. i decided to look else where to play because of lack of playing time, the head coach is an excellent guy, but some decisions might have been influenced by other parents, so i dedcided to look elsewhere.

I would contact any team you're interested in. What's the worse they can say.... they have no spot for you? It's good experience too... kinda like talking to a college coach. Plus, you never know what coach might have a connection with another team that needs pitching (possibly one you've never even heard of). Baseball is a world of networking and you might as well join in and explore all avenues.

LHPStow - Then you would've faced my son. He was #23 for the Jayhawks at 12u then at 13u played for the Hammerheads (#23) then back with the Jayhawks last year but as #3 since somebody took his number. He was primarily a pitcher but also played OF, 1B, 3B and SS.
Regarding your situation, have you tried Ohio Thunder? The Jayhawks end at 14u but most of the team from last year stayed together and, as I understand it, they will be the top Ohio Thunder team in 2008. I'm pretty sure they'd be interested in a LHP.
Another option would be the Ohio Hornets. They've gotten pretty good over the years.
Feel free to PM me if you need more info on teams. I'd be happy to help.

Primarily a pitcher?
Just another one of those 2-way stud players
LHPStow....... I think it very important to prepare yourself for a solid sophomore high school season. Impressing the locals by doing that will go a long way into where you play in the summer. It is a process to get where you want to be, so enjoy the journey. If you play well, it gives you a solid basis for progress.

I think you should try to fing a team at least by the end of fall beginning of winter. There are definately teams in NE ohio that could use a good pitcher.
LHPStow - I know of it but can't offer much insight on the training. The place is run by Bob McCracken (sp?) who I've spoken with several times. He's associated with the Ohio Thunder program and was going to coach the 2008 15u team and had contacted me regarding my son. The team he was putting together fell through and the 2007 14u Jayhawks became the 2008 15u Thunder essentially. I never met him but he sounds like a really nice and enthusiastic guy. He may also know of some teams looking for players. His facility is just south of 76 on Southeast Ave. I believe. I probably can dig up his phone # if you need it.
Another place to work out is Massarelli Baseball. It's on 241 just south of the Blimp hangar. My son hits there and I can get you John's number. He has pitching instruction as well.
The other well known hitting instructor in your neck of the woods would be Greg Isaacs (sp?). Coach Ike's place is probably pretty close to you but I've lost his number but I know Old Slugger can help you out there. His son worked out there.
Also, Brownlees is now using The Edge facility in Twinsburg. I can get you that info if you need it.
If you don't mind driving a little bit, there's a place in Euclid (???) where the Andy's Niners team is based and my son's 13u team hit there over the winter. I'd guess they have instruction but don't that for sure but ClevelandDad might be able to offer some insight??
AllStarSS 3 - Are you still with the Seminoles?
