Just more and more indoor practices. As is the case with most northern schools, probably won't see real grass until the first game in North Carolina Feb. 22nd. I keep checking the weather and temps for Greensboro....HOPING for "decent" weather! Workouts during the week, scrimmages all weekend long. He's mostly only been catching a couple of innings and DHing the rest of the time. Trying to rest and save the legs for the long season.

This past weekend my son's team had a golf tournament (a huge success), an allumni game and a game scrimage. Tempature was a balmy 78 and they had a great time. Mind you they have been outdorrs since practices were started. I knew we sent him south for a good reason. Here in Ontario we are having some of the coldest days I can remember.

luvbb, they have some great facilities in Maine (suprising) The dome is approx 250'X 250' built primarily for baseball and used for softball also. Infield is all marked on the field turf with hollywood bases etc. They use a portable mound but get a pretty good scrimage in except for fly balls. The ceiling is only 80'. It works well for scrimages this time of year. They have a hitting area in the next building with cages and the Pro Batter. The Club house and field are right next to both of these facilities. (You really can't see the field, it blends into the rest of the tundra)

Boy, you guys are REALLY on the ball! I didn't know they posted an article until I read it HERE!!!! Thanks for the well wishes. It was quite a surprise as this is the first time our coach has appointed captains since he's taken over the helm. I know he's chomping at the bit (as I'm sure ALL of our guys are) to get this season under way. Altho, as I look out my window right now, baseball season seems but a distant memory with the snow, sleet and freezing rain coming down! Coach Merc....I think I need one of those Maine DOMES!
