I was sitting down last night discussing with my parents when they would come see my son play this season, when I realized that his schedule for the next 5 weeks is basically identical. Single games on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and two games every Saturday. They don't make up rainouts unless they are games within our district, so chances are that not all of those games will be played (last year, 1/3 of the games were rained out) but I'm curious as to how that compares with some of the schedules other high schools in our forum coverage area play.

John - Last year was the worst year for rainouts that I can remember! Senior night was actually rained out - we got through the ceremony and that was it!

Not to hijack your thread because it's an interesting question, but I'll see ya tomorrow night!!!!! clap

Knott Central had 3 games rained out last week. Coach leaves Wednesday's open just in case this does happen.

KC has games on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday's. They don't have too many DH's. Only if a game is rained out will they have a DH if the other team can.

tas, our "doubleheaders" aren't the traditional ones of playing the same team twice, it's usually part of a 4 team thing where we play one team on Friday and the other two teams on Saturday.

Lafayette basically played that schedule in Florida, playing Sunday, Monday, two games on Tuesday, Wednesday off, then games on Friday and Saturday. So, come to think of it, it's 6 games a week for 6 weeks in a row. Whew.

I know what you mean. If KC's coach could play 50 games in the season, he would. Most of our DH's are 2 different teams as well. A couple of Saturday's ago, we had the Woodridge, Ohio team here. We were supposed to play them and then another team was going to play Woodridge. But the other team never showed. So, we played them twice.

This past weekend, were going to have Lee County and Harlan over for some games. The field was in a mess, though. The boys did get in some much nedded BP.

I'm not sure what the total number of games allowed in a season is. This is determined by KHSAA. I do actually remember a year that we, Lafayette, had to cancel a couple of games near the end of the schedule because we were going to exceed that limit. That's a good problem for the kids to have IMO! Smile The more the better!!

I would love to see more games.

I believe it's 32-34 games. If a team is in a tournament, 2 games would only count as 1. I believe that is how this goes.

KC was scheduled in 4 tourney's this season. We had to back out of one because of KC's prom.
