I thought of your son when I saw they won. That's pretty exciting stuff! Beating Cumberland always seems like a huge task that teams just can't do! So congrats to Union! I love having a KY team there! Smile

I will also send out congrats to Union. I always pass it as I travel down 25E to visit my son who lives on the other side of the KY/TN tunnel.

I always found it confusing, though, that there is a "Union" in both KY and TN, and a "Cumberland" in both KY and TN. These 2 teams seem to be the KY "Union" and the TN "Cumberland"!!

Thanks Mom! I'm still a Tennessean at heart, but have certainly developed a fondness for things in the Bluegrass state.

btw-my son is obviously disappointed that he wasn't able to contribute this season, but his surgery rehab is going very well. He's maintained a great attitude throughout the process and is looking forward to getting back out there in a few months.

I read where Union is the 3rd KY school to make the NAIA World Series (Spalding and Georgetown were the other two).

The two Unions (one in KY and one in TN) is confusing. It's also confusing that there are two Cumberlands LOL.

Bizazz - I hope your son does amazingly well! I have shared a time or two about Grateful's son. He's a DI pitcher who quickly became one of my favorite pitchers when I began to follow him. He tore his labrum - had surgery - did his rehab. Came back the next year with an amazing performance out the gate. Then began to have problems - sore elbow and velocity not going back up. Had to have TJ and out again. He came back this year (his senior year) and worked his tail off for a for successful year and was named as a member of their all conference team. Only our boys can determine how much baseball means to them and for some their determination and dedication is a true testimony to the game as well as their spirit. Your son has had a rocky journey, but he can overcome if that is what he wants. No doubt about it!

Good luck to Union! Kentucky Union that is!! LOL
