Thanks, everyone!
Yes, Connor David Mead was born on Thursday afternoon, about a week before he was due. All involved parties are doing very well at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
Grandson #1,Owen, is now throwing everything in sight with his left hand. His two left-handed uncles are pretty excited. They want to start tying Connor's right hand down. His mom said it would make it hard to nurse, but they just told Connor to "man up." For sure, though, no breaking balls until he's at least 6 months old!
Again, thanks for the good wishes. We have been blessed.

Kathy, That is really amazing! You'll have to change your screen name! My great grandfather was left handed, my father in law, my nephew, and my son of course. So, perhaps I'll get a new little lefty too!?!?! He'll probably end up loving to play the oboe and play chess (no offense meant to oboe and chess playing folks!) and won't touch a baseball bat! I wouldn't put the six month rule on Connor! You never know - he may be very mature and large for his age!

quote: I've always said that one day, I'll learn myself. That piano lesson did stay with me as I raised my kids - just one of the times in my life my kids have taught me something!
But on the other hand, my middle son Dan bemoans the fact that he would like to be a better piano player and blames me because I "let" him quit too early. I don't know if there's any way to win Thanks, Beez. Yeah, we joke about the left hand thing. In all honesty, apart from being a baseball pitcher, there aren't too many advantages out there in the real world for left-handers. It really is more of a curse than a blessing. Even in baseball, my two left-handers still complain that they would have really liked a shot at being a shortstop!
