MC - Sounds like a very unfortunate event. Both of these teams have some classy and experienced coaches, so I'm surprised that things got this out of control.

When Lafayette played Dunbar last week, one of their players went to charge the mound on our pitcher, but our coach and the umps were immediately on the field and controlled the action. Player was ejected and incident over.

It sounds like tempers were flaring here and things got out of control quickly.

MC - What was the score of the game. Did anyone get ejected (don't need names)?

MCHS, gees what a night, yeah the Central player was wrong, but it was more of just a bad base runner than a malicious hit, you could tell the runner thought there is not going to be a play at the plate, the runner took more of a hit than the catcher, why the 3rd base coach sent him is beyond me there were no outs, and more sticks coming, a descent catcher holds on the the ball anyway. The hold situation would not have blown up if the West Jessamine Coach would have went to get his pitcher after he came after the Central runner, instead I saw him stick, a hard open hand around McMaine's face who was standing near the action, and they locked up for most of the malay, I still cant believe what I saw, from the West Jessamine coaching staff they all were extreamly aggressive toward the Central players. When the umpires stopped the game. Were there ejections of was everyboby ejected? Suspenions? Was anyone hurt? Is Central's game with Estill Co. cancelled or what? Good Luck with the rest of your season.... duel

Top Dog - from what I've been told by some others the game was stopped - tied 3-3. The umps just called it. I guess it probably doesn't count on either's record.

The score was 4-2 Central with no one out and runner on 3rd, in the top of 5th. No the game was stopped at that point....

Interesting Mr. Baseball. That's a different score than I heard through the grapevine. This sounds like one of those stories that may live out for awhile. Before it's finished, they'll be broken limbs, handcuffs, blackeyes...... Smile

Mad. Central's game with Estill was played last night, with no seniors. Only 1 junior and 5 freshman in the starting line-up. Central won 4-3. They will find out this morning wheather they can play against Mad. Southern Friday. Central is waiting for a ruling by the KHSAA. noidea
The Win Streak lives on.

oops my bad forget about the DH, I dont have a son on the team, just like the game. The Freshmen that threw really looked sharp, just gave up 3 hits one was a 3 run bomb in the first, and never threaten again. Defensively they were sharp, King in the outfield covers a lot of ground, and the SS and firstbasemen, don't know the younger guys names yet, noidea made serveral good plays. You know if the Varsity get to play agianst Southern Friday?

Mchsball, were the Central players suspenions self imposed. I notice on the net this morning that West Jessamine beat Franklin Co. 12-2 in 5 innings no way did their JV or non suspended players beat them that bad. Whats the deal noidea

Every single one of you are wrong about this...The West Jessamine catcher was rammed, the pitcher ( Apro I believe ) was backing up the play behind the plate, simply doing what he is supposed to. Then the Madison Central players were totally out of line, they "attacked" West Jessamine's coaching staff, and began trying to hit the coaches...now that is just bush league, from what i witnessed, both teams were wrong for brawling, but Madison Central was at fault for starting, and antagonizing the brawl. The Ponder kid even tried to tackle the West Jessamine coach, but luckily one of the West players was looking out for his team. The West coaching staff didnt even throw a punch! And i must say from what i saw, Madison Central did NOT win the fight!

Baseball1919,
I don't think that either team feels like they "won" anything. I am familiar with coaches with both of these teams and know several kids on each team. I think this was one of those games that emotions got out of control. It sometimes happens - not good - but it happens.

I wasn't there, but I'm sure that this wouldn't happen again. We've played each team every year and neither of these teams are "bush".

As we all begin to focus on the end of the year, I wish both teams a good ending to their regular season, which unfortunately is just around the corner! Good luck in the post as well.

Listen to your grammar MCHS baseball...u sound like you might have a 3rd grade education. Madison Central doesnt even deserve to step on the same field as West Jessamine, they have a classy coach, a classy team, and not some bush-league rednecks like Central. I cant wait to see this matchup in the Regional Tournament...i may play for another team other than these 2, but i cant wait to watch this game! I hope WJHS hands it to em! And there was no outcome to the game you moron, it ended in 4 innings, making it an unofficial game. When u get some intelligence MCHSball, you can talk.

baseball1919,
HSBBW is a great site because there's no slamming one another or throwing insults. There are plenty of other boards that allow this type of behavior. We're not in a competition here - just having conversation, sharing experiences, and learning. Please keep it that way. We don't want Moderators having to close down the KY folks!!!!!!
