That's too bad. Those Beach Bum unis were pretty cool looking. Shoot, he wasn't there long enough to get his very dirty! Well I guess looking on the bright side, he will be closer to momma now.
Congrats!!!

Again, congrats to Joe! I know the family is so very happy with him being with the "home" team! It's wonderful when our journey takes us to where we want to be!!

.WOW...thanks everyone. I've been away from the site for awhile, but what a great welcome back! It has been a WHIRLWIND couple of days. Joe had been in Traverse City, MIchigan playing for the Beach Bums in the Frontier League and loving every second of it. The REST of our family was in Italy for two weeks. Seriously...we JUST landed and cleared customs in Philly when my daughter's cell rang and it was Joe who asked to be put on speaker phone for us....then he told us that he wasn't a Beach Bum any longer...but a Phillie . The next morning he loaded up the car and drove 12 hours home where the Phillies came over last night to sign him.
Today has been a long day as I had to drive him to Jefferson Hospital in Philly for ultrasounds on his elbow and a 2 hour physical! THEN...to the Philly airport from where I just returned to put him on a plane to Albany, NY where he is meeting up with the team.
LOL...last night when he signed his papers, and after the Phillies left, do you have ANY idea what he was most proud of? That he has health and life insurance now! LOL. Oh yeah...he wouldn't tell us WHO he named as beneficiary because he said he felt "safer" that way!
He definetly had a circuitous route to affiliated ball since Penn State...but it seems he got to his ultimate destination nonetheless. So my moral of the story to anyone is...keep the faith . And of course...enjoy each day as it comes!
Thanks again everyone!
