Georgia Tech advances to the Super Regional.Congrats to Andy H.("lil Bee"?)and the rest of his team for that great accomplishment. Not all of the seeded teams in other regionals were so lucky.

Bee -- care to fill us in on any of the details?

They did have a great season. College of Charleston had a fine team this year so it is no disgrace to lose to them.

Congrats to Andy and GT, keep the dream alive Smile

Don't want to hijack this thread, but on the UK note - there's already talk of Cohen replacing the LSU vacancy. noidea His contract has not been finalized at UK.

Don't worry Laf, Cohen will still be at UK next season. He's building some interest here in KY and doing a lot of things with youth baseball. Wink

I have a feeling if the LSU job is offered he will probably take it. It was rumored that he had applied for the Auburn position when it was open a couple years ago noidea Of course, UK was in the SEC cellar then, so who knows how this year's successes will play into any possible decisions. Also might depend on what he loses in the draft this week.

Tas - I think I'm with TDF - if he was offered, I think he'd jump on it. I believe UK has only been a stepping stone in his mind all along. Now, someone pointed out to me today, that they didn't believe LSU would seriously consider Cohen at this time. Despite their disappointments of late, they can get a really big name. Cohen is only 39 years old, has big aspirations for his career, his wife works in the baseball office and his kids are young. I don't see him settling down here for good. Just opinion though.

Now, we've officially hijacked!

Where is that Bee to get us back on track!?!?!

Laf, that sounds logical. I still believe that some of the things that he is doing within the state with youth baseball may keep him at UK another couple of years. I really hope so. He has done so much for UK baseball and brought a lot of interest back into the sport.

OK, I'll stop hijacking the thread now. Big Grin

thanks all, I had a great weekend & will pass the congrats along Smile

thanks for the thought Char, I wish I'd have taken you up on it Frown - - I returned via I-77 & ended stuck in construction traffic - however my jeep could NOT just overheat like eveyone elses -
the radiator just blew up Eek
I ended up in the parking lot of a Beckly WVa Auto Zone putting in a new radiator all evening Monday - a tip of the cap to the friendly & helpful locals, ya just can't beat WVa folks

I got to see some great baseball teams & visit with their fans (more later)
Andy was scheduled to catch the Sat game vs Vandy's Price -
he stops early on his way to the park for gas & grabs a sandwich at the gas station
then spends the rest of the evening in the training room vomiting & hooked to IVs Frown
soo - Wieters "picks him up" going 3-3, driving in a run, scoring a run, stealing a base and chasing Price Big Grin

a few of Andy's hs buddies made the trek as well as Cathy's sister from Charlotte -
we had a cool tailgate setup above the cf wall surrounded by fans from other teams & had a great time. I know we did some of the best brats ever made on our grill. sis'n'law kinda pist some folks off by continually trying to pay $$ when someone offered her something - - but the guys were able to smooth it over Smile

Andy had a good game Sun & made a great catch on a foul pop dissapearing into the the 1B dugout just like 2 yrs ago - but, this time he re-appeared ball in his hand - -
rather than teeth in hand 14

and we're doing it again this weekend, but with Mom & Sis

also, best wishes to Chad & others with draft opportunities today clap

Yep, for those of us who are required to travel I-77, Beckley is a VERY important exit. Sorry about your trouble. So where, exactly, is the construction back-up and how bad is it?

Sorry to hear about Andy's run-in with the gas station sandwich. It sounds like he's lucky he was well enough to play on Sunday Eek Loved hearing about that caught pop foul!

Best of luck next weekend. We'll be watching!!

You know Bee I hope someday my radiator blows up while I am returning from winning a regional.

Congrats to GT, they look to have a great shot at all the marbles. Just tell Andy to make his lunch at home this week.
