ashbb - I'll add my congrats to the Pittsburgh fans as well.

We're always willing to talk a little football and basketball here too! Wish I could talk more about my cats winning this season, but unfortunately I'm having to keep pretty quiet! However, great game on right now between OSU and Michigan State.

We all have to follow something to get us to baseball season! Wink

ashbb - They are the hated Steelers for the Cleveland Browns fans BUT I am happy for them. They earned that win today and provided a few heart attacks as well.

Hope your son has a big year for the Black Knights this year Smile

The steelers where the better team today, hands down. i would have put my money on the colts but they just got out-played. How about Peyton, Dungy sends the punt team out and Peyton waves them off the field and decides to go for it. If I was the coach, I would be really ticked off if one of my players pulled something like that. I guess it just comes with the "super-star". But also, I guess the Quarterback has a better sence of what is going on on the field than the coach sometimes. Not all the time but, sometimes. Any thoughts?

In a post game interview, Dungy said they were going for it but the punt team didn't know it.

Beezer,

I heard the same thing.

How about Manning pointing fingers and putting blame on line. Bradshaw jumped all over it in his comments for the game.

I heard Peyton and I was giving him a Eek look. I don't think his line will appreciate that too well. I missed Bradshaw's comments though. Frown I was in and out of consciousness and they may have been shoving smelling salts up my nose at that point.

Dungy being from Tampa, and his personal tragedy, I was for the Colts until the end when my heart went out to Bettis. Then following the game, the post-game Manning interview, I was really glad the Steelers won. Manning will never win the big one, because he is not a leader. He threw his line under the bus and if he thought there were some "line problems" in that game, wait until next year. I don't think he endeared himself to them and I don't know how they will ever trust him. A leader "gives credit and takes blame". Guess Peyton and Eli can suck on their silver spoons togehter in front of the TV screen next weekend!

Sorry if that came out a little harsh. I just think what Peyton Manning did to his teammates is a sin. I was so disappointed because I had always credited him with being a class act.
Go Steelers!

Puma1, I agree with you...well said. Did you hear Bettis after the game..."man, this was all my fault, I am very thankful, the defense pull this out". With that one line you can see the difference.

But my heart goes out to former Steeler, Cots coach Tony Dungy will "reflect" on remainder of career. I pray he stays with it...he is one of the best.

Last year and years past, it was the baby-faced, whiny looks on Peyton during the game that disturbed me. He improved in that area this year with the "I don't believe this is happening, whimsical grin." He imploded with those comments after the game however.

Speaking of Dan Marino, I never thought he was the greatest leader either because he was always publicly calling his teammates out on the sidelines. Of course, it was never Dan's fault they lost.

How about these suggested comments from your team leader:

"If I would have just done a better job of reading the defense, getting rid of the ball quicker, and perhaps avoiding the pass rush, I could have helped out the offensive line which is of course the best in the NFL imo. You have to credit the Steelers though, they gave US fits all afternoon. I will work hard in the offseason to improve my mobility and reads so that this does not happen again. I feel bad for those guys in that locker room for letting them down."

I wasn't surprised that the Steeler's beat the Bronco's. Too many TO's by Plummer, and it was expected that he would.

The Steelers Are Unlike Any Other Pro Sports Franchise
With Only Two Coaches in 37 Years, Pittsburgh Is the Exception to the Rule
By JOHN WIEBUSCH, AOL

....
"So, sad but true, in an off-with-their-heads world, coaches really are hired to be fired. Yeah, and don’t let the door hit you in the you-know-what on the way out.

Except in Pittsburgh. Except with the franchise where common sense and decency and honor and, yes, patience still are golden rules"......

Congrats to the Steeler Nation jumping

The Seahawks totally neutralized the Steeler defense with the 3 step drops and held of the blitz extremely well. Ben had 2 TO's and the run game was pretty weak for the most part yet they still managed a "W".... I'll take it! One for the thumb!!!

good
