SIBullets' tag line on his posts says it all: hitting is timing, and pitching is upsetting timing. When you see a pitch that looks, for all intents and purposes, like a 90 mph fastball, but it is only coming in at 80, well, timing is upset.
Perhaps this means that those slow lefthanders are going to start getting as many looks in high school and college as the fireballers!
