I know there will probably be a main board discussion sooner or later but thought I would start this side thread for us die hards to comment. I can't believe how much enjoyment I get from that show when my wife and daughter had to drag me kicking and screaming to watch it. The highlights they showed from Seattle next week looked hillarious and I can't wait to see them

CD - I only watched the first hour of it because the CATs were on at 9:00. It just never ceases to amaze me that some of those people truly believe they can sing! I love to sing too, but I know better than to ever put someone else through the torture of hearing it! Did these people's mommas lie to them all their lives or something making them think they could carry a tune?????

This was the topic of discussion on "Baseball, This Morning" (It's a moring show on one of XM's baseball channels. One of the host is Buck Martinez.) They talked about how bad some of these people were and couldn't wait until tonight's show. They then discussed what you mentioned. They said that this goes on in youth baseball leagues as well. And see it all the time. I could never tell one of my kids that they are great at something, knowing all to well, they aren't.

Anyway, Jewel looked great. And we now know that Minniapolis isn't a hotbed for singing talent.

That was sweet! But why did she have to say Astros> and what the heck is an Ispaoe?

By the way, I missed the very beginning of the show. Is Jewel from Minneapolis? Is that why she was there? I thought she was great! It was so obvious that she was biting her tongue alot of the time and didn't want to be mean spirited. WOW, is she gorgeous too! But WHAT was up with Paula? Usually SHE is the "nice" one, but she had many moments of either drunken mental impairment, or she's just lost it completely!

IMO, it is ONE thing to encourage our kids when they are in the YOUTH leagues. A little "softening the blow" and encouragement are fine because they still have many years of potential development ahead of them. BUT (LOL) these people on American Idol????!!!!! Puhleeeze, we have adults here that are still delusional! SOMEONE should have told them before they went on national tv! How about that one 16 year old boy who came stomping out of the audition cursing away and then broke down in tears because THEY wouldn't allow him to be famous at 16????!!!!! Those parents should have smacked him instead of telling him that he WILL be famous. Oh wait a minute...now that he's been embarrassed on national tv...I guess he IS famous afterall!

Hey CD....can you start a new thread when "Celebrity Fit Club" starts up again? It will be more high-brow this season because Marcia Brady is on it and will give the series a bit of class! I'm just gonna give it a peak because I want to see an overweight Marcia Brady...which I'm sure will make Jan very happy!

We in the LHP household tend to watch the CBS shows on Tuesday nights, so we watched NCIS and The Unit. However, we flipped to Idol during the commercials. I find it's hard to hold my interest until it gets down to about the final 10 contestants. We'll be at the OSU basketball game tonight, but Santa brought DVR to our house this Christmas-- what a treat!!

Yea yea.., Was I looking good in that sweet red shirt with those awesome flames or what! Man, I give MYSELF goose bumps when I hear ME hit'n those high notes! I've known since I was three that I was born to be a star, it's my destiny! Obviously I was way better than any of those other wanna be's.
