Went to a game of theirs the other day. Several college coaches in attendance said they "have good bodies in the field but a bit overrated". They looked **** impressive to me though. But my perspective is 12u. So take it for what it's worth. Wink

My son's Connie Mack team is 1-1 against the Redskins this year and 1-0 against the Midland Indians. I asked him who he thought the toughest team in the Cincinnati area was this year and he said he thought it may be the Cincinnati Bulls who they got run-ruled by last week.

It was funny because they bring in several teams over the weekend and they all play each other. Kind of neat. We were watching Midland play Midwest out of Chicago. On the other field, we watched the Jaguars (out of Columbus I think) and the Knights (???) from Nashville. And then when the Redskins were finishing up, a team called "Hitmen" were coming in.

What's the difference between the 2 teams? We know a kid on the Indians but he's on rehab right now so he wasn't there. But he will be at a D1 school next year so I couldn't figure out the difference.

Good question. I am no expert on this subject so I will just tell you my general understandings which could be wrong. If anyone else knows for sure they can set me straight.

My understanding is that the Redskins are considered 1a and the Indians are maybe 1b. I believe the Redskins have more blue-chip D1 players as well as high-round draft choices that are recruited from anywhere in the nation. The Indians may be a younger team as well and may include more Ohio players than the Redskins.

We're in a tournament this weekend in Cincy, so I'm anxious to see if Midland plays in it as I've heard a lot about them. Will also be watching for the Bulls now ClevelandDad!

Your assessment is probably correct. Somebody even referred to the Indians "the younger boys". I asked for a program but they didn't have anything. It may be on the website now.

By the way, if anybody is going to their field, let me know. It's kind of challenging to find if you don't know what you're looking for.

it's been a few yrs, but -

the Skins are their premier 18U AABC-Connie Mack team (16 thru 18 have played)

the Indians tho playing as an 18U team carry a 17U roster and go in a different direction in postseason - not AABC (& not uncommon for Indians to fill in season needs or gaps for the Redskins)

Braves are the 16U team

tho some players may move inseason to fill organizational needs - the other teams are NOT a progesssive feeder system for the Redskins - and the Skins are re-rostered each yr with the BEST players they can get - period

that said, they are a class organization and super people to be around on & off the field

hope that helps

No clue. I looked at the Redskins schedule online and it doesn't mention them so they must have been there to play somebody else.

Beezer - I don't think either of these fields belong to Midland - Haubner Field or the Knights of Columbus Field?

We play Panel Barn, St. Mary's, Aces 18, Calumet City, and Pittsburg Eagles. Are you or Cleveland Dad familiar with any of these?

There's a Hitmen team here in Lexington, KY - one of their players actually posts here on occasion.
