A sophmore? Maybe this is a brother in a family of Moviel pitchers I am unaware of. Greg at 6'6" was all everything in hs at St. Ignatious and was drafted in the 15th round by the Cubs but chose to attend Vanderbilt. I believe he has battled injury problems the whole time he has been down there. Scott is even bigger at 6'9" He played on my son's summer team last year and I thought was entering his senior year this year as a four year starter. He plays for St. Eds which is the arch rival to St. Ignatious and which is also prominent Cleveland Catholic School for sports. I imagine with his size and velocity he will also play at D1 after he graduates. It's very possible there is another Moviel brother that I am unaware of. I am not surprised he turned some heads given how successful his brothers were. Update...no I was wrong, the pitcher you saw was Scott as indicated in his brother's bio from Vandy below. Also, now that I think about it, I believe Scott may have been the rarest of breeds - a kid who started on Varsity when he was in the 8th grade. If so, he stands to be a five year letter winner. Talk about an early bloomer Personal: Gregory Edward Moviel…Born 12/19/84 in Cleveland, Ohio… Son of Sue and Mark Moviel...Has three brothers (Dan, 25, Paul, 22 and Scott, 16)…Paul is currently playing in the Chicago White Sox organization and Scott is a 6-9, 240 pound high school sophomore playing varsity basketball and baseball…Major is Special Education

He pitched on the NABF in Joplin with BK and BS as his teammates. BK and he are becoming friends, and my nephew(2005 STEDS) and he played hoops together there, but Scott had an ankle issue that season. Scott and BK are now teammates for the Midwest Redbirds Fall scout team. He is a good kid and projects well, like his brothers.

yup Greg was (is) an awsome athlete btw, Ohsaa allows 8 semesters of varsity eligibility, so being a 5yr letterman is not an option - - quick, ditch that 8th grade letter jacket in Lake Erie da guys on the east side can advise on the proper technique so it NEVER rises ps- Dan, little one is going to Myrtle Beach AM .
