I've been fortunate to see several teams play this week. The best team so far in the Lexington area has been Lexington Christian Academy. Although, granted they weren't facing especially strong pitching in the game I witnessed, they were smashing the ball. I believe their offense can carry them very far. Too bad they're in the district with Lafayette, Dunbar, Lexington Catholic and Tates Creek - TOUGH district!!!!

I agree with Lafmom, as far as Lexington Christian being a very tough team. Several Kentucky teams were in our Florida panhandle tournament for Spring Break, including St. X (who is definitely good as well), but I feel like Lex. Christian has some of the top talent that we've played all year. And there is some really good talent in the Panhandle this year. good

EagleFan - Lafayette plays Lexington Christian this week. I can't wait to see the game. Lafayette started out shaky being all new varsity starters but two! However, I've watched them several times over the past week and they are really coming together.

Both of these teams are in the same district, so the game is important for seeding in the district tournament which isn't for several more weeks.

Good luck Generals!!!!

Here's the latest version of the poll:

1. Lexington Christian (4)
2. Lexington Catholic (8)
3. Pleasure Ridge Park (4)
4. Louisville Eastern (1)
5. Louisville Trinity (2)
6. Owensboro Catholic (3)
7. Christian County (1)
8. Louisville Male (1)
9. Danville
10. Paul Dunbar
11. Louisville Manual
12. Boyd County
13. Tates Creek
14. Louisville St. Xavier
15. Campbellsville
16. Owensboro Apollo
16. Henry Clay
18. Hopkinsville
18. Lexington Lafayette
20. Bowling Green
21. Elizabethtown
21. Pulaski County (1)

The numbers in parentheses are first place votes, I believe. As with all polls, one must take them with an entire salt lick, not just a grain Smile

yeah lafayette is way better then we thought, we had them beat but threw our releivers wrong after the starter got tired and got hammered. i pitched against calloway, a few errors killed us, 5-2. were coming around though, we get another shot at lafayette friday or saturday at our tourney.

i pitch for the indians!! Winning the region in 2006

mchs. . .you guys just got hit with a buzzsaw in that 4th inning against Lafayette. They started hitting better when they beat Dunbar on Wednesday night, kept hitting against you guys, and didn't stop hitting all weekend, either.

John - Very interesting poll! I strongly disagree with several schools on there - but time will tell! Smile

That hitting of the generals is due to the pitcher you had throw practice Thursday! Big Grin
