Possibly moving to the Cincinatti in the Spring. I am looking for a 12YOA team for my son who currently plays on a Majors level team. If anyone could offer any suggestion on a team in that area, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

The 12 year old age group is split up into: National, American and Continental
Coaches decide which league they belong in, National being the better teams.
I would suggest you contact the league coordinator and tell him what you are looking for. There probably aren't alot of openings for spring at this time since teams are usually formed in the fall. If you know what part of Cincinnati you might move to that might help you narrow down your choices.
The website has not been updated for 2008 so look at the 11 year old pages.

Thank you. That is very helpful. I had been waiting to narrow down where to look for a house until I found out where some of the better teams were located in the area. Like most of you, my son lives baseball year round so we would prefer to live somewhat near where his team practices. Thanks again.

Dad, My college age son played on a team up in Cincy this summer. Here is the email of the manager of that team. I would think he might have some insight into the area and teams and be able to provide a different kind of perspective for you. Tell him that Michael Curtis' mom suggested you inquire (if you choose to contact him). His name is Jerry Reeder.

I've heard that the Cincy Spikes might be one of the better teams in the state. I don't really know anything about them. I can't even remember who gave me that info. May have been one of our coaches.

Thanks lafmom and Innocent Bystander ! I have received some much need info. We are used to playing USSSA ball and I could not find many of those sanctioned teams playing in the Cincy area. I am sure with all the info I have received I will find a team for him. He really likes to play ball in fact we are in a tournament this weekend and have already played two games today with a third starting soon. Its a liitle bit warmer here than it is there right now. Again, thanks to everyone for all the feedback. That is what makes this site so great !

TX Dad, I just sent you a pm. Just wanted to post it here in case you miss it. I live in Cincy metro area and my son's team is in the NL of Southwest Ohio League. I'm very familiar with all the teams and coaches.
The league is sanctioned by AABC with rules similar to USSSA. League games for 12u are 50/70 & OBR. Nearly all tournaments in the area are USSSA which will also be 50/70 & OBR.
Thanks WA Dad. We are getting close to making a decision on the move. Should know next week. I understand it might be tough to find a team in the Spring because tryouts have been held. But if it is like teams here something will open up.

I agree the value of this website is incredible. Additionally, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised at how nice everyone has been in the Cinci area offering to help me out in not only finding a team for my son but locate good schools as well.
And I know the weather in the area there mirrors that of Houston so I hope you are enjoying the same 75 degree sunshine type day that we are getting here today. Did I mention there was still another baseball tournament being played here this weekend.
Oh well, at least I know the people there are warm !

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas who replied to me. FYI we have deceided to relocate to the Cincy area. I will be there in early January awaiting the winter thaw so I can come out and see some great ball games in the area and search for housing. My family will be there in early June. Again, my thanks to each of you. Maybe I will get the opportunity to meet you at a ball game. Merry Christmas !

TX Dad, Happy New Year to you. I'll send you a PM with some more detailed league and tournament information so you can follow local baseball in March- May before your family arrives.
I'm assuming this means your son will play spring ball with his Houston team then look for a new team up here next fall.
