I have a player (13U now) who is moving to Murray, KY.

Any teams in the area? Please PM me if you can help.

Redbird, PM "Bluegrass" who lives there and "03Parent" who lives nearby as well. I suspect both might have some suggestions. 03Parent's son is coaching youth in that area too. Smile

Will he go to Calloway County HS? Good program from what I've seen.

lafmom,

Thanks for the advice...I PM'd both of them.

And, yes, he will go to Calloway. His parents have already spoken to the Varsity Coach and he is eager to see him play as he is a LHP and a smooth swinging LH hitter.

Redbird - I don't know if it's still Coach Thicke (?sp) at Calloway or not. My son's HS here in Lexington typically played them twice a year - in their tournament in Murray and then they'd come here to Lexington.

When my son decided back in the spring of his freshman year of a JUCO that he wasn't happy and wanted to go ahead and transfer, his HS coaches knew immediately. Son was home for easter break I think it was and Calloway County was here playing. Long story short, the Calloway coach was told he was wanting to transfer... spent probably 30 minutes talking with son about where he wanted to play and he made a couple calls on son's behalf (those schools contacted son too!). I'll never forget that, as we had no direct connection to him and he had no real reason to do that other than a love of baseball and compassion for a player that he'd seen play a few times. To me.... says all I would need to know about the guy! I hope he's still there... if so, the kid will be playing for a fine fella IMO! Smile

If he makes it up to play Lafayette here in Lexington, I'll drag JohnLex and family, and we'll go catch him play! Smile

Yes, there aren't too many in the area. I have even spoken with the USSSA State Director to help him. His younger brother had no problem finding a solid team. Perhaps it is the age group?

redbird5 you have a pm

Also my son is coaching in Clarksville, TN which if ya take the back roads is about an hour from Murray and they have a competitive teams there called the Clarksville Orioles. I believe they have a web site. My son played for their 18U team before he went to college and his freshman yr of college. They have younger teams so this is a thought also.

heres a link to their site

If you're serious, try the Storm in Paducah.
