We're heading up to Cincy Sat night for a game. I should probably remember, but can't recall seeing any restaurants near the park. We want to go early and eat dinner nearby. Anyone know restaurants within walking distance? Surely Bee has a relative that has one somewhere in the area!!! LOL Seriously, any ideas or suggestions? Smile

We were there for a game last month. However, it was SNOWING that day and we didn't linger or lounge around the park much! Seriously, the park is sort of isolated, stuck between the freeway and the river. There are plenty of places to eat IN the ballpark. Now, my favorite places to eat there are just across the river in KY. THere are one or two riverboat restaurants right across the river from the park that are great.

We go to Cincy every New Years and Montgomery Inn is the our favorite place there. I know its down by the ball parks. I assure you the food is great. Have fun!!!

Kathy, I told the kids that it's probably not our memory... I didn't think there was anything we could walk to by the park. There isn't much around there, but the park is easy to get too... that's a plus! Smile

Lori, I have heard about Montgomery Inn over the years and I think that's what we're going to do! We may just stop at the Ft Mitchell one up on the way. Thanks for that idea!! Smile

Montgomery Inn is GREAT but not walking distance. Just a short drive. If you don't stop at the Ft Mitchell one (I didn't know about that one) the Boathouse location is just up the river from the stadium.

While you're in Cinci the Beezer clan (well most of us) will be about 2 hrs up the road in lhpx2's neck of the woods for a tourney.

Oh yeah?? Where will you be, Beez?

And, Laf, the good news/bad news is that with the way the Reds are performing this year, you will be able to find good parking available right up 'till game time Roll Eyes

LOL Isn't that the truth!!! Sheesh, think they could acutally use me in the bullpen!! Big Grin

Michael and I are hoping to get up to Detroit and see the Tigers and RedSox play in July! Now, that's a game I can't wait for!!!!!

I was really hoping Zach Duke would be throwing Saturday and tried to pick the tickets with that hope. He pitched this past Tuesday night... so that won't be happening! Oh well, go Reds! Wink

Beez - Good luck in the tourney!! Michael's throwing Sunday for a team coming nearby to play, so my weekend will have some more baseball too! Smile

Beez - He's not doing Nashville again - just was too expensive of an experience. However, he's got one team and possibly a second that want to use him to pitch as needed. The team Sunday is out of Cincy and one of his best friends is playing for them. I knew the name... but you know... that was last week... and.... I'm old! Big Grin

Son met up with some friends here locally this afternoon and had a pick up game of baseball. They were just going to a field and using tennis balls. I told him I wish I didn't have to work and could come watch. His response was "only you mom, would go sit in the middle of a field and watch some kids hit tennis balls!". He just hasn't met all the HSBBW folks! Wink

Lori, We stopped at Montgomery Inn in Ft. Mithcell. Michael and I had the barbeque! Other folks had different dishes that looked good, but he and I agreed the barbeque was the best we'd ever had!! Awesome! Some pricey dishes, but the sandwiches weren't out of line. That boathouse would be a romantic dinner venue... especially on New Year's Eve. I bet reservations go quickly!

The Reds might just be having the most pitiful year I can remember. The pitching was sad. They left tons of guys on base! In all actuallity, I was kinda rooting for the Pirates anyway. Griffey is one of my least favorite players and they traded my boy Austin last year. The Pirates have Zach, who I believe was right in front of us in RF during BP... they wouldn't let him throw balls back in! Smile Their 1B coach is from Lexington and has two boys my son played against all of HS. So, I could live with a Pittsburgh win. Smile

Charlotte, I know it's pricy but we only go once a year and it's the night before New Years Eve!! We usually have a hour and half wait so we go to the bar area and have appetizers and drinks. This yr I had a cup of coffee after dinner it was the best coffee I've ever had.

Rob and his family are huge Reds fans!!! I'm a Cardinals fan just cause its close and we go from time to time to see them.
