In an earlier take, I mentioned to BCAT that it seems like HR's are flying out at an incredible pace in the entire State of Ohio.
Most of the teams have played between 6-9 games already, and a couple kids in southern Ohio have 6-7 bombs already in as many games.
Just on a lark, there were 29 games played in NE Ohio yesterday, and a combined 37 HR's were hit, in one day. That is crazy!!
All the variables like bandbox fields, strong favorable winds, junk pitching, bigger and stronger kids, $329 bats all have some effect, but a kid still has to make contact.
At this pace, several kids will have a shot at the Ohio record of 22. Pretty interesting.

Interesting stuff. Down here in Kentucky, after having watched my son's team play 10 games and some games from other teams, I have seen only 1 HR from our team, and only 2 against his team. I've watched two games involving teams other than my son's, and seen two home runs. We have the same bats, so you think it might be the sizes of the fields? The field that my son's team played on last night is about 320 down the lines, 350 to the gaps, and 400 to center. My son's field is about 300 down the lines, but with about 20 foot fences, and is well over 400 to center, and to hit a HR in center, you have to hit the ball on a building.
