The Ohio Baseball Network is up and running and we wanted to let everyone know. The site is an informational tool for everything baseball in the state of Ohio. There are FREE listings that go in to the website directory for travel teams, tournament hosts and showcase hosts at the local, regional and national level! The listings are FREE to post and those who join the Members Dugout ($25/year) have the ability to view all tournament, showcase and team contact information!
Again, we would like to invite everyone to at least include your team/tournament/showcase information in the directory for FREE! We look forward to making this as much of an informational site as possible!
How does this work exactly? There is no charge for people to spend the time to update your database yet you charge $25 to view the listing? What exactly is free about that?
FYI - this site frowns on entities who use it to promote their businesses for free. Please contact MN-Mom and you can purchase a promotional banner in both the Illinois and the Ohio forum if you so choose. You might say what is the big deal? Many members (including me) contribute money to keep this site a free site and it is not appreciated when others try and exploit that good will without paying their fair share.
Point taken. Yes the site is free to post things but we also have to cover the costs associated with running and maintaining the site. I'm sure you understand.
We see a ton of posts on the HSBW that post "informational" stuff about tournaments, teams, and showcases that likely don't "donate" money to the site though. Do you have MN-Mom's email? We would certainly like to get something on the site. Thanks.

That is correct - the offenders are not welcome however. If you'll notice, the showcase promoters on this site have all paid for promotional banners. Informational posts regarding events are welcome. Promoting/advertising someone else's website on this FREE website is frowned upon for the reasons stated previously. Basically it is reaping where you have not sown. If our site were completely free, it would not bother me that much. We should all pay our fair share imho.
MN-Mom is the owner of the site. Here is her e-mail jas@pclink.com and her name is Julie. Thanks.
Again, point taken, thanks for the lecture. We will look for similar posts on the other sections to make sure the same actions are taken against others. I feel confident that "showcase promoters on this site have ALL paid for promotional banners" is not completely true.
Thanks again and we'll get in touch with Julie for certain as we don't want to cause any problems. Just releasing information like everyone else, not sure why we were singled out that's all.
