Does she still frequent these parts? I see LC plays her son's team this year...after getting snowed out last year. I was hoping to meet her on Feb 23-24.

OMG! Browsing thru and see my name.I still occasionally browse through but not so much of late. Steve is in his last yr. now and gearing up for his last season. I probably won't make the trip to VA since we leave the next weekend for FL (Ft. Pierce tournament)plus the fact that out of 3 yrs. of going to VA in Feb., I think they only played 2 games 'cause it's always snowing there when they go.
Hopefully, he'll be able to play. He's been having some shoulder problems AGAIN after several pain free seasons. MRI showed a possible labrum tear which he possibly had a pinhole tear when he was in HS but therapy worked that time around. He's going for a cortizone shot this wk. so we'll have to wait and see. The doctor said he'd rather wait and see before shutting him down for his last season.
Guess I haven't frequented so much lately because he's decided that he probably won't get drafted and he actually decided on his own to focus on, as he put it, his real career. He interned as an AD at a nearby HS and loved it even with the late winter hours so he's really excited to move on after this season. But, I still think if he got a chance he'd jump at the chance to play on.

mom - Prayers that your son's injury isn't anything serious and he's able to fully contribute this spring. We have a lot of senior parents around here and I'm sure that must bring a bag full of emotions for all of you - especially when you throw in an arm problem. Good luck to Steve!

JT, just wanted to say that we left all the snow up here this year - son called to say it's just really cold down there. Of course, we had a snow storm over night and into the day. Figured they be snowed out again. If you see Steve, you'll have to say Hi. He's #18 and should be in left field. Hope his arm holds up. He did get a shot but not the cortizone he was hoping for and he says it still hurts. Today's game will be their first game of the season and I see you guys have had several already. If your son is Jeff, #7, I see he got some honors already this season. (checking out LC's website). Congrats to your son.

Thanks...and that WOULD be my son. I am out of town, today, but will be on the lookout for Steve on Sunday. I am sure the 55 degrees will be more agreeable for the boys, today.

He called to let us know how the game went. Guess he did ok considering. Ya know tho, I forgot to ask if they won or lost! Was more concerned w/his arm since he goes to the doctor on Tues., again. And found out, his coach does not know about the arm yet. Shouldn't take him too long to figure it out since he can usually throw to the catcher and said he barely made the cutoff guy today. Time will tell. I told him if someone comes up to him at the game, it's someone from here and told him to check out your son. When I told him his number, he knew who I meant.

Glad to hear that you got to meet him. He told me you seemed pretty "cool". Good luck to your son too this year. I looked your son up yesterday and noticed he's got the same major and played the same position, at least yesterday. How cool is that? He always shakes his head when I tell him I read something on this site that might interest him so it's pretty neat for him to have someone from VA come up to him in the dugout from this site. Thanks. Means alot. Hope his arm holds up. I'd hate to go to FL next week and have to watch him sit so hopefully the doc can give him a cortizone shot or something to get him thru this last season.
