Congratulations to our very own Lafmom, who welcomed grandson Jaxon Curtis into the world at about 1:30 this morning! All participants seem to be doing well, and we wish the entire Curtis family best wishes as they enter into this new and exciting time!!

Oh, thanks so very much everyone! What I experienced in the wee hours this morning was every bit the miracle that current grandparents shared it would be. I shared that I believe with your own kids, you're so wrapped up in what you have learn and what you have to do. However, with a grandchild, it's just pure blessing and wonder!
They corrected his length today and have him at 20 1/2 inches long which I suspect is the accurate length. My son was 22 inches long and only 1 ounce more, but wasn't nearly as pudgy as grandson! There's rolls everywhere! He has a terrible cone head, so I think they must have included that in this morning's measurements!! He is just precious though and thanks for the sweet thoughts everyone!
Puma - I just passed a sign when I was returning home from the hospital a few minutes ago announcing sign ups for ball at our closest park. T-Ball is 4 years old - I'll be counting the days!!
I'm not suggesting that any of your college sons run out and become dads, but I'm telling you when it happens (if it hasn't already), it's AMAZING!!

I should have added, that from our own forum, Topdogfan will be the next in the grandparent's club! Her daughter is expecting which is long overdue in mom/dad's opinion!

Many congratulations from a couple of blocks away! :-)
I am sure that Jaxon has a complete set of Lafayette Generals attire by now, doesn't he? After all, it's been 24 hours!
Give everyone hugs from this side of the subdivision and make sure you start giving lessons to Aunt Kelsey in how Aunts are supposed to spoil kids too!
JT & Bee - That's really a great suggestion regarding name. I'll have to consider doing that!
JohnLex - I'm actually planning a visit to the Locker Room as soon as possible. He WILL have the proper attire for his first Generals game this spring!
Lefty vs Righty? I don't know. Son is a lefty and we have lefties on both sides of the family. My son called in a report to his former HS coach today with something like "he has huge legs and great abs so I'm seeing a pitcher that will probably be able to hit high 90's and it appears he can use right or left hand so far!". I'm not sure I've ever seen a man so taken with his child. It's very heartwarming to witness that kind of love.
Anyway, all is going textbook perfectly for the baby and family. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers over the last few months!
