Ok, can we keep another one busy? It's about time for all the players to be heading back and I know we have a lot of new ones joining the college ranks and hopefully they'll jump in and share those new experiences.
Best of luck to all the guys this fall!

Good idea Lafmom....I always like hearing about all the guys....hopefully the updates will start soon. My son will be doing his student teaching this fall along with fall ball up at school. He was lucky enough to get placed in the local school system's middle school so that he can get to fall ball practices/workouts/games right after the school day is done. Should be interesting to see how it all works out. He headed back up to school this week to get settled in, meet with his teacher and the "teaching team" he will be working with. He'll be teaching 8th grade American History! LOL...my 9 year old daughter is getting a kick thinking about her brother actually being a TEACHER!

LOL...my 9 year old daughter is getting a kick thinking about her brother actually being a TEACHER!
My daughter would be laughing too!
I have been having some mixed emotions this time around. For starters, where did the last two years go already My son is a junior already? Say it ain't so...
In his freshman year, we helped him move in, made sure he had food/money/stuff and almost cried when we left him there. There was an empty knot in our stomachs as we made our long trip home.
Last year, he drove down by himself and moved himself in. This year, with the long summer baseball season and just basically being pooped out, he decided to not come home this summer. My how times change.
He moved in on Friday to his new condo and they have their first team meeting today. They will have a smaller roster this fall of about 35 kids and that likely flows from the changes that are happening in college baseball.

Glad to see a new thread, hoping for a better season healthwise this year.
We will be taking Joe back this Thursday, tying in a visit to my parents to justify making the trip. The truth be told Mom just couldn't handle putting him on a plane even if he will be a junior this year. CD you are right, where does the time go?
Lafayette has made some significant investments to the sports facilities this year, mainly to football adding lights and a brand new football varsity house http://goleopards.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/060107aah.html that will free up training equipment for the baseball team. In addition they have remodeled the baseball locker rooms so that should be nice.
After losing almost the entire season last year I am soo ready for some baseball, it can't get here soon enough.

Here's hoping for a healthy season for your son JMEPOP. Of course, it is mostly for selfish reasons....a healthy Joe means more updates for me to ready about his phenomenal BAT!

Looking at all of the posts' in this thread made me think of something I thought I would share. There is a common thread amongst this thread and that is....."Where did the time go?"
Look out O42 is going deep here.
I can remember myself...I know I know it was a long time ago. But, I can remeber wanting so bad to be 12 so I could hunt, then it was that I couldn't wait until I was 16 so I could drive, then it was 17 so I could be out past midnight with the car, and then it was 21 so I could.....and don't you fellows do this...so I could drink. Now I have both feet on the brakes, the emergency brake pulled and I am kicking and screaming trying to get this train wreck slowed down.
Enjoy every single moment you have with your kids, take something everyday no matter how small and hold onto it. Baseball is a game we all love but it can be tough on us parents, but remember how tough it is on the players too even when they are enjoying themselves.
O.K. I am out.....Mike

Keep your eyes open for those scary looking emergency exit ramps, might be worth a try. You get to move on to the next level- GRANDKIDS!?

Congrats O42!! Welcome to the world of grandparenthood!
We have a new grandson as well (11 months old), and try as we might to force the left hand, he seems to be a for-sure righty. Oh well. We have another one due in December (yeah, I know )and we'll have to work on that one. Since I live with 3 lefties, you'd think the odds are in our favor, right?
Now that our boys are finished with college/pro ball, we're counting the time until we can start all over again with our grandsons and T-Ball. Can't wait!!

Thanks everyone! I am as proud as can be. As some of you know I have 4 kids (2) boys and (2) girls and my youngest is in her last year of HS. She has been a Varsity S****R player for 4 years. So I thought maybe the wife and I would get just a little break. But along came Connor, who needs a break.....I don't, I am just getting started.

Wow! Congrats 042! We also have 2 girls and 2 boys and today Isaih came along 2 weeks early and the first thing he looked for was a baseball! His mom (trainer) gave him a 20 minute break (delivery and all) before getting him started with some core strength training. I'm tired! To bed at 5 am and back up at 8 to go to work late. Picked daddy up after the ballgame in Charleston, (3 1/2 hr drive) got to the hospital at 12:30 and Isaih showed up at 3:03. And I was worried we might be late, no problem. We actually left before the game was over as dads mind seemed elsewhere and couldn't seem to put the ball where the ump would have liked to have seen it. So 042, I am right behind you! After you I come first!
