Congrats MCHS - I've said from the beginning you'd be in the polls! A number 10 spot is a perfect place to be at this point.

Lafayette moves down to number 3. PRP who is always at the top moves up to number 2. Heath continues to move up the polls as I have said they should from the beginning. IMO #12 Heath is one of the best teams in the state based on what I've seen. Calloway enters the top 25 as they should - they are another under-recognized program. #17 is blank - I don't know why or who is suppose to be there? I continue to think some teams are overranked, as I'm sure some folks will feel that way about Lafayette as they've suffered some losses recently to other ranked teams. Oh well, still a lot more ball to be played folks, if it'll ever stop raining!

Those Bulldogs from Male are on a roll. The best hitting team from Male I have seen in some time.

Just move everybody up one East Jessamine was in at # 25 why is beyond me, maybe they thought they were voting for West Jessamine. Ballard, Male and Lex. Christian should all move in front of Lafayette, not cause there better per say, but because they have earned it with wins. Lafayette is still a solid ball club. Lex. Catholic is still getting to much respect. And while Mad. Central has finally gotten some respect. There's not 10 better baseball teams in this state. walk

Mr. Baseball, This past weekend gave some interesting results (for those teams that were lucky enough to be able to have played).

Christian County suffered three losses. I post the polls here because it makes interesting conversation, but as you point out, there's obvious flaws. Lafayette never went higher than 9 last year - I don't believe any of the final four last year were ranked in the top 5. Obviuosly, the polls don't give all of the information or predict who will be peaking come playoff time.

Catholic has some good ballplayers - they could very well rally and come back to play some ball, but I agree as of right now they're not getting it done. Lexington Christian is playing some good ball, however they beat Lafayette by two runs. Lafayette played terribly that game with several errors - IMO, Christian didn't capitalize like they should/could have.

I still say the two best ball teams I have seen this year are Madison Central and Heath. These are the only two teams that I feel are really underrated. Don't forget about PRP as they are playing some excellent ball. Other teams, you could make an argument either way IMO.

Powell County played with Madison Central, losing 8-4, with Powell counties number 3 and 4 on the hill!!!! Powell left 8 runners in scoring position, with less than two outs!!!!! I believe when Powell County has their one or two on the mound, they are a legit top 20 team.

MC - I'm going to slap your hands! Play nice with others! pull_hair Good teams know they're good teams - scouts and coaches know good teams.

Any team can produce different results depending on what combination, what pitcher, what day, etc. That's one of the wonderful things about baseball. It's also why coaches try different things during the season and give different pitchers a try. We all want that ring at the end of the season - or at least to last for a while in post-season play.

Speaking of which - it's almost here. Who does Madison Central play? I believe you all are still doing a draw in your district. The 43rd district changes to seeding this year, which I think is great. Last year in the 43rd with a draw, the two top teams Lafayette and Henry Clay had to play each other with Henry Clay being eliminated - really wasn't a fair deal for them.

Bammer - Good luck to Powell County - keep working hard! And welcome to the board!

Keep 'em in line LM.

Powell is a good team. Probably will win their region which would make two in row.

Welcome to the board bammer!

Hey Tas - This thread has gone completely off line - but anyway, how are your guys doing? We've been coming along quite well the last couple of weeks. This has been a very rainy season and we've had a ton of rainouts. Afraid this weekend might end up a wash (we're hosting a tournament)! Our senior night is next week Frown
Can't believe it!!!

Lafmom, we are not where we should be, but we are doing better than last year. We've beat our rival twice this season (1st time in about 3 seasons) and 3 of our boys have hit homeruns with one of those boys hitting 2. And that is a first in a long time. Oh yea, Brandon was one of those boys. It was his first. We missed it. But still just as excited when I got to him and gave him a high five and a hug.

KCC's coach also got his 500th career coaching victory.

We should have been rained out on Friday. The weather let up and Saturday was a perfect day to play ball. Our Senior Night is this Friday as well. Good luck to your son and his team in the upcoming tournaments. Hope to see you at Applebee's Park.

Tasmit - Congratulations to Brandon!

Sounds like your Saturday was a lot better than ours. Poured buckets here with us having our 4th tournament rainout!!!! Very wet spring.

Our senior night is Thursday, weather permitting. I'll post more on this on Friday, I'm sure. I cannot tell you the feeling that I'm having. It's always been an emotional evening, but the anticipation of my son spending his last days on Lafayette's field is almost heartbreaking at times. We've loved being a part of HS ball and the Lafayette program.

Would love to see you at Applebees too - we'll probably go watch even if it's not us playing!
