Cool word eh? It is a German word (having no English equivalent) that means taking delight in someone elses misfortune.

Noticed in another forum there appears to be some delight taken that a certain high school has lost in their conference championships. Should people be happy about that fact or should they reserve their happiness for their own circumstances? Maybe sports is a natural breeding ground for these types of emotions.

Absolutely...with sports rivals. I am sure most would agree...particularly if it is a bitter rival.

Oh, goodness CD... I think all of us have been guilty of this at one time or another. The pompous parent, the nasty neighbor, the cruel kid.... sometimes we all secretly hope "they'll get theirs". I think though as we age, we learn that revenge happiness is very fleeting. It also doesn't usually humble the one we're happy to see fail. They just go back to being cruel, nasty, or pompous and we're left feeling guilty that we had those emotions. Well, most of the time! Wink
