I'm going out in the car this evening for the first time with my newly permitted 16 year old daughter. She just called me at work to see why I was delayed. She's much too anxious for this adventure in my opinion! Roll Eyes

lafmom,

Oh my goodness.....GOOD LUCK! I know my shortcomings....and patience in a car with a teenager is one of them, hence my husband took care of ALL the driving duties in our home. Plus, just the thought of going out driving tonight is scary around here.....sleeting and ice around here. Hopefully it is warmer and safer in Kentucky! Good luck....I think you'll be cracking open a bottle of wine when you get home! Wink

You WILL be posting her route for those of us who live in the vicinity, right? Smile

John LOL, Don't you feel like every time there's a new one of them that there should be some kind of public posting in the neighborhood! Big Grin Kind of like for a neighborhood association meeting - BIG board at the entrances of their subdivision.

I'm no worse for the wear, except for the right hand won't open fully from grabbing the "Oh, my God" bar so tightly! Eek

At least you've been through it once already! I absolutely dreaded driving with my daughter when she was going through that. Plus in Ohio, they get their temps at 15 1/2 and parents have to drive with them for 50 hours over those 6 months till they turn 16. Eek

Beezer - I'm not sure mine could have seen over the dashboard at 15 1/2. Here, they get their permit at 16, but can't test for the license until they have permit for six months. However, there's no hourly requirement attached. Not a bad idea except for my hair going gray!

In Florida, you can get your permit at 15 and license a year later. Talk about "babies" on the road. I still freak when I pull up next to one of my son's "little" friends behind the wheel! At least we don't have ice and snow to deal with.
