My son was invited to the East/West Allstar game at UK Saturday and I was wondering if anyone else on here will be there as well.

AgentDad - I do not know anyone who will be attending but I believe lafmom's son has been working at the camps at UK this summer. I am sure she can confirm this later this evening Smile

In the mean time, welcome to the hsbbweb Smile We have a nice group of regulars that visit this forum plus people who stop by from around the country and the globe. Please contribute or start a topic as often as you like. This time a year we are a little slow because most of our kids are all out playing the games somewhere.

Thanks ClevelandDad! I am not new on here though, just been out of touch for quite a while. I got consumed in the craziness of the HS baseball schedules, recruiting process, camps and showcases. Lack of time caused me to lose contact with everyone and I had to create a new ID cause I couldn't remember passwords and my email changed. I am glad to be back and all the hard work has paid off.

AD, I'm assuming your son is a junior, since you said he is playing on Saturday...mine will be playing on Sunday in the Senior games....PM me if you want any more info (or at least as much info as I have, which isn't much!)

AgentDad - I had wondered where you went to. If I remember correctly, your son is at that purple place in Louisville! Smile I believe that all kids that have signed with DIs automatically get to go to the East West games. So, in addition to JohnLex's son, another former teammate of my sons and his should be there. I didn't even realize that there were games for juniors?

My son isn't working these games. He's working camps at UK and other colleges in the area this summer... I'm not sure who actually puts on the East/West game. noidea

The JR / SR East and West games are put off by the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Not sure of the whole set of details but like someone said any kid who signs with D1 school is automatically on the team they represent. Regions 1 - 7 are the west and Regions 8 - 16 are the east.

lafmom,

You have a great memory. My son does play at Male, he was their ace this year. He was the starting pitcher Saturday in the 1st Junior game. He had quite a year this year, with a 7-1 record and 6 wins over top 10 teams. He finished the season with an 1.53 ERA.
He did fairly well Saturday, he gave up 1 run on 1 hit (thanks to 3 errors in the 3rd inning on the 2nd baseman on routine GB's). He should have had 9 consecutive outs in his 3 innings, but it's baseball and things happen. How is your son doing? It's great to be back!!

AgentDad, Congrats on your son's fine year! This is such an exciting time in his life and parents as well!! Make sure and keep us updated!

My son is doing very well. He's playing some summer ball and pitching well (with the exception of yesterday Roll Eyes) and is hitting some as he wants to explore possibly hitting again in college, which he had previously given up. So, all is good! Smile

Again, good luck to your son and keep us posted!
