mchs, Madison Central (Richmond,KY) sounds much like Lafayette in Lexington who lost most of it's starters to graduation. However, just like Lafayette, I'm sure you've got the guys to step up and have a great year. Madison Central has a good district to play in and a very good coach. I'm anxious already for the spring HS season! Hopefully, I'll get to see you guys play.

yeah were gonna be fine, we have a great pitching staff, and a few good bats in our lineup. the only team in our region that didnt take a big hit was catholic, but with that penalty they got, who knows if they will be able to play in regionals this year

Mr. Baseball, I assume that question is for me. Haven't seen you around much this fall. My son actually ended up asking for a release when the head coach left there at the end of July and due to some issues the school was having. He went to Lincoln Trail in Illinois. He's talked to Marty several times and I undestand he's doing well too - which I never doubted. I don't know Chase personally, but I know many kids have a slow go at adjusting to this transition in their lives. Hopefully, he'll be fine. The new coach there is a super person that I'm sure will help them both develop as players.
The Indians will have many adjustments, but I do like that coach and think he can bring them all up to speed fairly quickly. A couple more months to try-outs!

mr.baseball i want to know how the hell you figure i have a rag arm? and not enough brain power? i personally dont think you know a baseball from a golf ball. wait untill the season rolls around, you will eat your words. and to answer the rest of your comments, weaver will play jv.ashcraft will be playing shortstop for us, blake quit, wells is probably catching, and ciolek will be at third more then likely.

I hadn't seen that post before I just deleted it because it has no place in our forum. I don't blame you for being upset with those comments. Please just let it go at this point. I have always counceled my son to only let your baseball production talk for you and absolutely nothing else
I see by the line-up you have a two-way guy that plays SS. Always worries me when I see that. It is tough on the arm to pitch and play SS; especially from HS and beyond. I hope the young man has a well conditioned arm. O42

It seems to me that Mr. Baseball is lacking in the brain power department himself. Any "smart" person knowns that you don't put children down, you build them up. It seems like he has a personal vindetti against this Pugh kid. It is my understanding that as a sophmore, pitching for a very strong varsity team that this kid had a very good record. If the rumor mill is correct and the Mathis kid plays this year, it will strengthen the Indians infield greatly. Ponder was a terrific pitcher for Central and I'm sure he is doing a great job wherever he is pitching.

I'll let your comments go regarding Mr. Baseball but lets nip a potential flame war in the bud. I deleted his post yesterday which indeed was inappropriate. Our forum is for good will and sharing. Nice to meet you and look forward to your contributions in the future
Welcome aboard. We are a family in here and I mean that. NO, we all don't sit around and hold hands and sing, but we really do care about each other in this forum.
You were greeted by the man we can all look up to the great and wonderful CD
What we try to do in here is make folks feel welcome and we also feel that everyone has something to share that can help. I will be the first to say that I do not agree with everything that is said in the forum, but I will not rag on them about it either. You will not see a moderator rag on anybody, we just ask that all who stop by to share do not flame, insult, antagonize, etc, etc.
I am glad you are here and hope you become a regular.....

My son played in Lexington and between spring, summer and fall, we'd play MC several times. Chase Ponder will be a loss for the Indians. I thought he was a wonderful pitcher. He's playing at Hiwassee JUCO in TN with HS teammate Marty Parks. The Indians will do very well I'm sure and I wish them the best!

I have 2 sons that play for Knott County Central. I believe we faced Madison Central over the Summer, if I'm not mistaken and I usely am. Anyway, if it was your team, B was either the catcher or SS. C didn't play.

I've watched MCHS baseball for years and I dont think I've ever seen such a devestating guaduation. All 8 position players and the top 3 pitchers. There should be some good battles for playing time, most every position, Here my guess at a line-up, and thats all it is at this point:
Wells LF Strunk RF HOlbrook CF Ciolek DH Ashcraft 3B Weaver SS DeGrant 2B Roberts C
Pitching: Ashcraft and Pugh have only limited Varsity exprience but have to be the early favorites for the 1 and 2 spots with DeGrant, Winkler, Winkler, Stinson, Strunk and Kelley getting the opportunity to win a game or two.

Hey Central Fan, did I miss something? Since you brought up the rumor, I heard Mathis and Skepple asked Coach R if they could try-out and he said no....Mathis was a pretty good player, but he hasn't played since 7th grade he's a senior 5 years no Baseball, which could have been his best sport if he had stayed with it, but so long without playing, It would be hard for me to believe he could contribute, and I know he is an exceptional athlete...Since A. King is not healthy and a couple of other players leaving maybe he'll reconsider, who knows...I'd still give both a shot if nothing else they could run the bases, you can always use speed. Both can fly.......

I'll assume your from Lafayette..you guys lost about as many players as we did you still have a starter or two left and a couple of pitchers, but Lexington baseball and the 11th region is always so goooood. Good Luck with your season. PS I was reading a Baseball America Article the other day and Chas Roe is still getting positve press, a little luck, no injuries we may get to watch him on the tube one of these days..

Alum - My son did play for Lafayette but graduated last year. We lost all but one position player and one pitcher. So, it will be a rebuilding year without a doubt for the Generals. However, they have a lot of talent - just may take a few games to get the chemistry and adjust to varsity level of play. I can't wait to see them in action!
Chaz did terrific in his first year! He's one of the top rated prospects (I believe it was 8th) in the Pioneer League and is suppose to go to Asheville the last my son told me which would be great for all of us Lafayette fans as they play the Legends!!!

MCAlum im guessing your one of our guys that graduated last year. coach R has been working ash at short alot, looking at him there and either s. winkler or m. ciolek at third. he hasnt said anything about not letting them try out, im sure he would have no objections.
