I am the wrong person to be giving advice for something like this but I actually listen to music to take my mind off the game. I know that sounds weird but I am too focused to the point to where I over think everything. Playing night games doesn't exactly help too much because the suspense of the game is there all day. Talk about a weird problem, hugh? -Kevin

This is a big thing with me, and I try to develop a routine every season with this. Road games, music is a big deal with me. On the way there, definitely got the music going. I usually try and find some way to exercise, just little things, before games. For example, doing pull-ups at the entrance of the dugout.

Hope you all dont mind an old guy posting here - my son is a 15 year old Soph and plays V. I expained to him that the pitching and hitting you are seeing now will be exactly the same 2 years from now....think about it...your experience and talent level will just go up and up and the level of play from your competitors will remain the same. I think you will find that when you are a Senior the HS game will be easy for you - now the jump to college may be something different. Have fun guys!!!!! Old guy leaving now.......
To our military men, women and families - You are all awesome - that flag is yours and I thank you for the opportunity for giving me the honor of removing my cap prior to every baseball game I see.

strange as it sounds, during a game, you should pick something out in the environment such as a house, tree, pole, etc. and just focus on it for a second. and think about the importance about it. the important thing about a tree is that it has green leaves. the important thing about a house is that there's people in it. the important thing about a baseball is that it's round. just anything to get your mind off and focus on something else, and you will pretty much go back to the real world focused and relaxed. it works for me...
