im sure that a lot of u have faced both kinds of pitcher of pitchers and im wondering which kind if pitcher is harder to hit off of? ive asked some of the kids on my baseball team but i just wanted to see wat you guys thought movement and junk pitcher or fastball pitcher

Unless the fastball pitcher is overwhelmingly fast or has movement on his fastball, he's meat. A fastball needs movement regardless of velocity.

On the other hand, if a junkballers's fastball can't be slipped by a hitter on occasion, the hitter can sit on the junk and drive the fastball the other way.

I ussually have the most trouble with the fastball pitchers that have a slider or a different pitch that is almost as fast as their fastball but moves a lot. Junkball pitchers are very easy for me to hit. You just sit on there junk and give it a ride. But there are some curveballs out there that I just can't hit even if I know it is coming.
I consider myself a fastball hitter, so I'd prefer fast over movement and junk anyday. But because I'm not such a great curveball hitter, I'm always looking for when the pitcher throws his junk (not just in my at-bats), this way I can sit back and hit properly.

i have most trouble with pitchers who have big curveballs with large speed difference between it and fastball. harder sliders i can pull and still hit the fastball the other way. IMO

In my life, I am probobly hitting .650 off of fastball pitchers and .050 off of junk ball pitchers. jk. I can hit a blazing fastball because you typically know what is coming and you just have to make an adjustment. With junk ball pitchers, you have to idea what they could throw. I also think it is easier to adjust to fast pitching from slow pitching, rather than fast pitching to slow pitching.

like someone said earlier the faster it is the less movement it has, so I would also say it is easier to hit a kid throwing harder (to an extent) than a junk baller. Normally kids that throw for power dont really spot up all that well and they dont care so if you get a room service fast ball its not that hard to hit.
hold on there a sec, believe me the harder the fastball the more movement it has. (usually) people that have natural movement on ther pitches will always have movement guys that dont simply dont. and trust me the harder the pitch the more it moves, when talking about fastball. guys that groove pitches get hit and guys that hit corners and keep low dont get hit. pretty simple really.

I crowd the plate so if I get a fastball in I turn on it and if he decides to throw me junk on the outer half I take it the other way. So I guess to answer your question I have no preference it's all about determining what kind of pitcher he is right away and developing your game plan before you get up to the dish
