There was a video Mark Johnson put out on Middle Infieldwork...it was excellent and i got a lot out of it.... i usually (for just a regualar dp ball) approach the bag, within about 5 feet of the bag i chop step/break down and stop about 1- 1/2 foot from the bag, as i get ready for the ball to come, i put up my hands (together bare hand beside the glove) and assuming the throw comes straight in, i step into the ball with my right foot onto the bag and transfer the ball, throw (usually side arm to help the runer slide) and then either get the heck out of the way if i have time, or i just jump....this all happens in a few seconds.... like i said...the video is a good watch
