somervilleboy617, I never played High School Baseball, simply because we don't have it where I live (Canada). That being said all I ever played was Summer Ball, and even that wasn't what you would consider on 'elite' teams. I managed to get a College Scholarship and interest from quite a few schools during my Senior year of HS. And remember you can always try to walk-on to a team when you are in College. Our 'Pitcher of the Year' my Freshman year walked on and made the team that year. So as Rock44 said anything possible if you want it bad enough

Bobble, All I'm saying is it can be done, it just makes the whole process THAT much harder. I know there is a huge emphasis on HS ball in the States, but it has been done before. Heck look at what happened in this years draft- taken in the 5th round by the Braves is a young man who is a quarterback on the U of O football team. He has not played baseball since high school. I didn't know they had HS ball down round your area, I knew they had it in Windsor and TO. Looking back on how things went for me, I wish I would of known more about elite ball up here, I never heard of anything other then the Badgers till I was out of HS. I do agree playing Elite Summer ball is important, especially if there's no HS ball.

If you train and practice as much as you can, I'm sure you can make up for lost time. Remember that you don't need to go to a big time college. Go to a school that will give you more playing time, and maybe halfway you can transfer. But don't forget to keep other windows open as well.
Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is just a hole in Arizona. -George F. Will
