BA really depends on opposing pitchers. If you are playing at the highest level in your state, and for example hit .350,you are likely a very good ballplayer.

At the same token, you may hit .350 in the mid to lower levels of competition in your state, and be considered a middle of the road hitter.

Thats why Scouts look at the player, not the stats.

With that said,I batted .386 last year(6a level)

I'm hitting .364 and have a .540 OBP..too bad I'm only on JV. Batting average is overated if you don't hit for much power and struggle in the field like I do right now.

I play jv ball and hit about 450+. Im not sure b/c the person keeping our book didnt put down errors and we lost a couple pages. All i know is in 17 games i only struck out 6 times. My goal was to get 5 but im happy with the outcome.

I practice like I play, ALL OUT ALL THE TIME

freshman -53 plate appearances so far and 25 hits 3 hr,4trips,8dbl,10 sing, alot of walks and sacrifices. i got 35 rbi's!!!!!

if you want some of this plate ,COME TAKE IT!
it not nice to steal on my pitcher !!!! i get VERY angry when you steal on my pitcher . that means i have to go to the mound and lie to him and take the blame .... you Dont want me that angry!

Im a junior and i play in the highly competitive beach district in Virginia Beach, Va. This past season I batted .424 in 59 plate appearences with 15 singles, 9 doubles, a homer,19 runs scored,20 rbi's, and sucessfully stole 12 bases out of 16 attempts. In the post season I batted .333 in 9 at bats, scored 4 runs , had 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple, 5 rbi's, and was 2 for 2 on steal attempts. Not a bad year, a bit disappointing, but overall not bad.

May I say this about Batting Averages----they mean nothing in relation to other players because you all play different levels of competition---BUT
If you play at the same level every year in HS and your BA increases every year that can be a barometer of you talent and progress
