How about three suggestions to start the, er, debate.

Mizuno's 11 3/4" I-web pattern, (i.e., the "Chipper" pattern), found in the Classic series for about $159, the ugly two-tone BUW series for about $179, and the Pro Limited series for about $229.

Rawlings smallish 12" Pro-1000 , the Ken Caminiti/ Troy Glaus H-web pattern. Can once in a while find the US made hard-shell pattern for around $200 broken in, or $275 new, or alternately the PRO 1000 TL-type with the pre-broken in oiled leather for $159. I think you can find this pattern in the Pro Preferred series for about 259.00 or so.

Easton's new (and ill-named)E-5 glove, 12", reinforced basket web, really great Horween-type leather and deerskin lining, now reduced from its initial 219.00 to about 129.00. This is the Eric Chavez pattern.

Good luck,

C/D

Personally, I'm an advocate of the 12.5 in. Nokona AMG series. little bit lengthy compared to the other gloves, but the web design is really good in not snagging the ball. The web is sewn outward towards the outside of the pocket so that the inward bend isn't so overwhelming that the ball gets hung up. If you've ever owned a good ole 13 incher, you'll know what im talking about

Akadema's AMH109 is pretty tough to beat, it's a great glove for a third baseman and should last you a good while. Here's the description from http://www.baseballadvantage.com :

AMH 109 - 11.5" pattern, B-hive web, open back, and deep pocket. Perhaps the most versatile infielder’s glove in the Akadema line, the AMH-109 was designed for professional shortstops, third basemen, second basemen, or pitchers.

I think that the Mizuno and Rawlings models that Coach/Dad mentioned above are great. Wilson also makes a 11 3/4 and 12" models that are excellent in both the A2000 and A3000 series. I believe one is model 1787.

As far as pricing, try one of the excellent on line companies such as Baseball Express or Western Athletic. We've had tremendous luck with BallGloves.Com. They are based in Manhattan Kansas. Prices and service were great!

This May Sound Odd But The Best Glove For The Job Is no bigger then 11-1/2. Other gloves are too big. While they may snag that ball deep down the line on the hop because of how big it is, are u really gonna throw him out, if so great, but chances are not. I'd go with a smaller glove that you can get the glove out of quicker. I'm mainly a SS,3rd,2nd kind of guy and I use a pro preffered "J" Series 11-1/4. I also own a Mizuno Chipper Classic 11-3/4, it can be used but i think it's just a little too big for the infield i tend to use that out in the outfield more.

GOOD LUCK and make sure to try the gloves onTRY HERE FOR THE "J" Series but i would go try on a regular one first

I agree. Some of the sizes ya'll are suggesting are pretty large. Take a look at these gloves. They are made of excelent quality, and are reasonably priced.

Thanks for buying Kelley!

And BTW, my son plays 3B. He started with the 832 pattern in the Century Series 3.5 yrs ago, upgraded to the same pattern in the ProLine, and just received a personalized ES832 for Christmas.

Coach, who handles Houston? I will call tomorrow and inquire about the territory. Send me an email, and tell me a little about the company, other than whats on the site.

cmflores1@houston.rr.com

I'd like to be an NDT rep but I have other products, that I sell, and I think the Kelley line could fit in quite nicely while at tourneys.

Thanks Coach W.
